Hi, The new policy aims to involve private developers in the citys development process. However, despite the proposals in the new policy, the PMC will continue to play a crucial role in the citys development. In addition to offering rebates in taxes, the government will have to ensure creation of strong physical infrastructure.
Hi I think the infrastructure in the city is likely to get a boost with the state government announce that it wants IT companies to develop amenities like roads, water supply etc surrounding their offices against concessions in taxes. In return, IT companies would get benefits of rebates in property tax and premiums for higher floor space index.
Hi Ramdas, I think you are right and recently I have read somewhere that the higher FSI decision would lead to increased supply in peripheral locations, thereby easing the pressure on congested areas in the city. The tech companies, on the other hand, would benefit if the proposed tax benefits are seriously given.
Hi Recently the state governments endeavour is aimed to attract an investment of Rs 50,000 crore and create employment opportunities for 10 lakh people. Thus the new IT policy is expected to improve Punes civic infrastructure, especially in areas close to IT companies.
According to the new policy, IT companies shall develop basic amenities such as roads, water supply and healthcare facilities in areas that lie in their proximity.Hence IT companies will no longer have to depend on the municipal corporation for the development of roads and other infrastructure in their neighbouring areas.
