I think we should all help government in this matter and must save water for future generation. Recycling water and use it for housekeeping tasks and for farming is the best way to save water.

Right Heena.....
Water shortage has became an issue in almost all the cities so little care can save a lot of water. Here are the few major points that we should keep in mind while using water. 1) Dishwashers can waste so much water, so avoid running it when it is not full, 2) Brushing Teeth and Washing Dishes with the running water consumes lot of water, 3) Do not need the water running when we shave, 4) Every time we flush the toilet, we waste 10 gallons of water, we should avoid this bad habits, 5) wash your car with a bucket of water. Only turn on the hose for the final rinse.

In this way we can save lot of water and help the city facing water issues.

Apart from that a leaky toilet can waste up to 200 gallons of water a day, so get it fixed immediately. Bathtime has became funtime, we should stop and make it no longer Funtime. It wastes an unnecessary amount of water and using Hot water uses a lot more energy, and it is not always necessary.

Yes, for that they have prepared a draft and sent the same to the Ministry of Urban Development, which will further hold consultations with stakeholders. they will finalise the guidelines based on the feedback received from the stakeholders.

Hi Dhiraj!!!
We should help the Ministry in this matter and expects states to incorporate the guidelines in their model building by laws and ensure they are implemented.

They are expecting these guidelines to become part of model building by laws and town planning schemes. These will go a long way in ensuring recycling of water then.

This guidelines are being paneled under Sustainable Urban Development' programme of the ministry which will make sure and encourage recycling and judicious use of water so that fresh water is not consumed in quantitities we are using today (for purposes other than drinking).

Hi Dhiraj,
My question is whether this guideline for all housing schemes, in all smart cities, and even in regular industrial use also? Are they going to consult the stakeholders prior to stakeholders to finalizing the guidelines, which are expected to be part of model building by laws of states?
