This is not happening in the first time. Almost all the cities of the nation facing such issues but this issues highlighted because of the local NGO. But tell me how many localities or cities have NGO like that. You will get such kind of construction almost every town and city.
@Vinay....
It is heard that the Trust had filed a Public Interest Litigation last year in this matter, in which it alleged that apart from its failure to stop illegal constructions, the civic body has not initiated legal action against the officers concerned.
You can not do anything Rajat. They are all well connected to each others. They paid a large portion of the amount to the higher authorities. How can they take any action on them.
Chief of Nagrik Welfare Trust, Ramashankar Tripathi criticized the MBMC over its failure to act in accordance with the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966.
The illegal construction is leading to encroachment, worsen conditions of open spaces, school and colleges. Even the state government authorities issued notice to the civic administration following Governor's orders. However, in spite of that the civic body failed to pay attention.
@Rajat,
This cannot be possible without local municipality employee support. One day Govt. will come with notice like Campa Cola, and then it will be a winning issue for local political party or the state govt. They all wait for such issue so that they can raise and play with the emotions of the innocent people.
Hi,
As per the local NGO, the way illegal constructions are spreading in MBMC limits, it is clear indication that it is being done in involvement with the municipal officers, builders and other dominant people. There is no doubt that Mira-Bhayander has become the new destination for illegal buildings.
It is true Daya. Thousands of illegal buildings have come up in the city in the last 2 decades. In spite of getting permission to construct only 4-floors, the builders have built unauthorized additional floors, even up to 10 storeys.
