@sankalp,
And in a reply to BJP MLA's statement, The revenue minister Eknath Khadse announced that the government will study the effect of the ready reckoner on the housing and property tax. But there will not be blanket increase in RR rate.

Yes, and later they decided that there may be separate RR rates for major cities like Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Aurangabad and others, which would give some relief to home buyers.

It is true that there will be no blanket increase in the ready reckoner rate of Mumbai city for the next calendar year as the revenue minister Eknath Khadse assured in the legislative assembly yesterday.

Because of an issue raised by BJP MLA, Ashish Shelar in the assembly and demanded not to increase ready reckoner of the Mumbai city. As per him, the government increases ready reckoner rate every year by 15-20% that leads to increase in the cost of houses and property tax as well.
