Hi, Chennai is a great city to reside in. Also it’s good to invest in a property. You can hope to get great returns on your property in this metropolitan city. I suggest you check out properties built on the Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR). I visited a project here named Anchorage, the property occupies an area of 120 acres and offers bewitching views of the Bay of Bengal and the backwaters situated nearby. It’s a 45-story building and has amazing amenities. Situated nearby is the impressive Tiana project; a 33-storey building offering breathtaking views of Muttukadu waters and Bay of Bengal. In these projects, you will find the best flats there are in Chennai. In addition, you can also check out Bayview project, another towering structure that has 40 storeys with four apartments on each floor.

Considering your requirement, I would suggest Radiance realty mandarin. It would be the perfect solution to all your queries. In the last quarter of 2015, I invested at the IT nerve-center of Chennai’s Thoraipakkam OMR area with Radiance realty’s Mandarin. I think it is a perfect opportunity to make an investment in Chennai, as the timing of investment along with the fact that the place OMR is so rapidly developing, plus the fact that its Radiance realty made the perfect mixture for me. Till today I feel that I made a good choice to go with Radiance Realty, especially after the floods, many building gave up and the news of under-construction building collapsing was everywhere. I was concerned about the building in which I have invested, but it turned out to be strong and was standing tall as it took the test of nature. Our developers Radiance Realty were proactive and kept us updated. I am very happy the way real estate sector changes are happening in Chennai. My apartment in radiance

Chennai is a great place to live. But like you mentioned, you need to be particular with respect to your office, children's school etc and of course your budget. Generally Anna Nagar, Adyar, Velachery, Kilpauk, Abiramapuram, ECR, OMR are nice places to live. If you could shed some more light on your budget and any additional requirements it would be easier to make a more specific suggestion.

I recently bought a flat from Golden Opulence. Why don't you try it which was not affected in recent floods, bang on NH4 and nearing completion. Rest of the other projects in that same locality locality are in remote places as you said.

Poonamallee? I have not seen much of projects on that stretch and since my budget is above 60 lakhs I don't want to buy flats in remote locality.

I would suggest you to buy flats around Poonamallee area, which was least affected in recent floods. Moreover it has good transport connectivity and you will get it according to your budget as well.

Chennai floods are not a natural disaster, they've been created by unrestrained construction. So it is very difficult to tell which area is safe to buy a property in Chennai.
