24 new FIRs filed against political leaders, developers in Digha illegal buildings case
Q: 24 FIRs were filed against builders and politicians with the Rabale MIDC police in the Digha illegal construction case, taking the tally to 52 FIRs.
Hi Anuskha, The demolition campaign to clear 99 illegal buildings, which came up on MIDC and Cidco land, is remaining as residents of the buildings, who were given removal notices, are now obtaining stay orders from time to time. Out of those granted stays, 3 buildings were brought down by MIDC in October, providing over a 100 families homeless.
In compliance with the court order, a coordination committee, comprising MIDC, Cidco and NMMC representatives, has been constituted under the assistant commissioner of police to verify the property documents before moving to file FIRs and demolishing the buildings.
Hi everybody, As per police sources, 7 accused are still in jail whereas the others are out on bail. Police have already submitted the compliance report on action taken against the accused in the high court. The rest of the accused have been unable to be found and a search has been initiated to track down these people.
Even MIDC has lodged 23 FIRs against developers, who encroached upon government land and cheated the home buyers. Social activist Brajesh Mishra has filed 3 separate FIRs in connection with the Digha illegal buildings case.
Yes, 30 arrests have been made so far since MIDC, local residents and activists started lodging complaints against those who deceived the flat buyers under the fraud of affordable homes.
Hello Kalki, I read this news in the morning. In the last 3 days they filed 24 FIRs. Many accused managed to get bail. According to High Court order, they have filed the compliance report mentioning their action like registering FIRs, arrest and verifying papers of flats etc.
