New policy coming this month to speed up housing project approvals
Q: The govt. will launch a new policy this month to speed up urban infrastructure and housing projects as part of its initiative to improve business in the country.
Hi all, There are some major challenges for infrastructure development in the country and govt. should look into this matter. finance, land acquisition, inadequate regulatory framework, delays in clearance, uneven private sector participation and pricing of infra service, among others issues which are creating obstruction.
Hi everybody, It becomes very difficult for a developer to come to Delhi for clearance, for NOC from the Airport Authority of India to have a house or building constructed in Hyderabad or in Thiruvananthapuram? I think this should be in the hand of state government.
Hi Praneeth, They are working on it and hope will resolve soon. in the coming budget, they will be coming out with a scheme for early clearances for all these projects without referring them to Delhi. They can be decided by urban local bodies. The guideline are being decided and they will be announced shortly.
@Rajiv, We all are waiting for such thing to happen in real estate market. At the same time we are expecting for a single window approval. We have seen in the last parliamentary session, real estate regulatory bill which would help in development not strangulation of the real estate sector but opposed by the opposition party.
Right Praneeth, Over and above, quality issues and sufficient infrastructure pull down GDP to some areas. Govt. underscored the need for improvement of infrastructure for achieving inclusive and continuous growth of 9-10%.
For this new policy, minister has held consultations with the six ministries, including civil aviation, defence and environment for making easier approval process and quick clearances.
After coming of BJP Govt., we have seen that government is keen on ease of doing business and is working on a scheme to make easy approval of urban infra and housing projects.
