Rajasthan Lokayukta ordered the Urban Housing and Development Departm survey of illegal buildings made by pvt developers
Q: Have you heard this news? Rajasthan Lokayukta has directed the Urban Housing and Development (UDH) department to carry out comprehensive survey of the illegal buildings in city constructed by the private developers.
I know this matter and it came into highlight after Sachivalaya conducted a preliminary inquiry. In this inquiry it was revealed that there are 78 four-storied buildings which developers have constructed penthouses without getting the maps approved.
It is true. And after receiving complaints from the residents a physical survey of 200 four-storied buildings was conducted. It was found that 78 buildings have constructed penthouses without approval of layout plan and sold it to residents and they are earning extra money by selling these illegal constructions.
Hi, It is clearly mentioned b y Rajasthan Lokayukta that more than 1,000 illegal multi-storied buildings whose building maps have not been approved by any local authority which is a serious matter and affecting the growth of the city.
It will be a appreciable step if the government is sincere in its efforts to control the illegal and risk-prone constructions in the city, then it will have to seriously examine the status of all such multi-storied buildings within the jurisdiction of both JMC and the JDA, for this purpose a comprehensive survey needs to be undertaken.
At the same time, Rajasthan Lokayukta directed the JDA to regularize the illegal construction in the old building after imposing heavy penalties, while, recently constructed construction can be demolished. This will not only serve as a warning to all future builders but will earn huge revenue to the government at the same time.
Actually these directions had been issued to create a separate cell and independent survey teams, which should not have any relation with Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) and Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC).
