Latest Answer: The UCMC has set aside funds for the project in its budget for 2012-13. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 13.50 crore. A Mangalore-based agency has been given the responsibility of constructing the bridge and the work is expected to get completed in 18 months.The bridge will be 375 metre long and its width will be 4.25 metre. The height of bridge above the low tide level will be 7.50 metre. During the foundation ceremony, MLA said that the government has already released an amount of Rs 8 crore to UCMC and the rest of the amount will be released soon. The widening of Adi-Udupi-Maple road stretch is also on the priority list of the government.
