This Rs. 20 Lakh home will make you go WOW!
Owning a home is everyone’s dream. But finding that perfect home is nothing short of an adventure. Especially if you are looking to buy an apartment, finding one that fits all your requirements could be nearly impossible. The only possible way to address this problem is building a house on your own because you have full control over the location, architecture, floorplan and the materials used. The only concern could be higher costs, which can be controlled if you plan carefully and strategically.
Building a home on a budget does not necessarily mean you must compromise the elements that turn the house into your dream home. A perfect example is this house, which was completed under Rs. 20 lakh, while meeting every requirement of the dwellers.
The key to saving cost was sourcing all the materials for the project locally. Abundant use of hourdi blocks not only helped keep the budget under control, but also ensured ample light and ventilation in every corner of the house.
Exposed brick walls, while adding a rustic charm to the house, saved the cost of plastering and painting. Roofs and pillars have not been plastered and painted, again helping save significant cost.
The living room is undoubtedly the centre of attraction of the house. It has a double-height roof and an open courtyard with many plants and natural elements. The beauty and greenery of the courtyard can be enjoyed from every corner of the house. Apart from the living room, the ground floor has two bedrooms, dining and the kitchen.
The staircase is embellished with Athangudi tiles. There’s also a small living area at the mezzanine level. First floor is complete with a family living with balcony and another bedroom.
Although built on a budget, this home is indeed a treat for your eyes and a feast for your senses.
