Q: Any one here who has been asked to pay MVAT..The contention on this is going on in the court.. The RTI reportedly says that this is still not applicable.. I have a seriouis issue with them asking for this amount and not giving possession until then

In regards to the issue the builder is creating problem in giving possession , can we get some kind of legal opinion which will help all of us

I believe, flat owners are not aware about the issue as formal demand has not been raised by the builder but it is sure that they are not going to give possesion untill unless you make a FD of 4% of agreement value by assigning lien to them....this is mala practice from builder. it was not brought in light of the buyer at the time of booking of flat.. All member should protest against the same collectively..

I agree with ur view, what maximum a builder can do is taking an undertaking to this effect. We need to collectively raise this to the builder.

Builder is asking to place a FD for the tax amount with lien to them. Is it legal at all?
