According to the statistics from the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), there were five lakh footfalls every day on public transport. The metro line will help the people using public transport during peak hours. It is expected that there will be more commuters than what they have on the Reach 1 stretch between MG Road and Baiyyappanahalli.

The North line of the Namma Metro between Sampige Road and Peenya will be taking more passengers, which comes in as a major relief for commuters.

Hi I am staying in Bangalore and it is a happy news of the Bangalorean people that the first metro rail in South India started and the fares are also very less and affordable and people can reach certain place in lesser time and more over Bangalore metro is the first in the country to use smartcards and this card can be refilled online or by scratch cards. The metro will cover almost all the places like Mysore road, Vijaynagar, Vidhan soudha, Cubbon Park, Indiranagar, Banashankari, Jayanagar, Rajajinagar, Peenya.

Finally the wait is over as Namma Metro started from today morning. Bangalorean people were very much excited and over joyed with the inauguration of Metro services, the Bangalore people were waiting for this moment for almost five years. Now the people can travel smoothly without any traffic chaos and congested roads and can travel at a faster speed and reach early to the destinations. The fares are very minimal starts from Rs 10 and maximun of Rs 15 in one trip.
