Q: Can BESCOM supply power to any illegal buildings?

If this is the case then illegal buildings too can enjoy power supply. I feel Bescom is correct, they might thought on Safety of residents as I know Bescom approached KERC to amend a clause — 9.01 of the Conditions of Power Supply but appeal was dismissed stating prevention of unauthorized construction is not in the purview of the electricity supply company.

Till Last year, Bescom was not providing power supply to illegal buildings. But now Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) tells Bescom that irrespective of whether the BBMP has given a clean chit or not, the Bescom is mandated to provide the power supply.
