What is the importance of PID number and how can I find my PID number?

The importance of PID number are: 1) PID will be unique to each property in Bengaluru, 2) The number is a combination of the ward number, street number and plot number, 3) It provides vital statistics such as owner's name and address of the property, 4) It will help the city administration to map its assets and put in proper management system for the same and 5) It will enhance tax collection by bringing all properties on revenue radar

BBMP has issued 16,70,000 new PIDs and uploaded them on bbmp.gov.in If you are not able to get your new PID number then this may be because the final validation is being carried out.

There has been delay in issuing PID number in Bangalore. The delay is due to a fault in GIS-based base map system.

According to senior revenue officer, the new numbers are nowhere similar to old numbers and they are not in a position to use new IDs for transactions such as property tax collection. According to sources, the project is expected to complete by March 2015.
