This card is going to help lakh of property owners in Bangalore. To restrict duplication of khatas, the government has finally embarked on the Urban Property Ownership Record (UPOR) project. This card will be the trustworth property ownership document and it'll have all the details of documents such as khata, tax receipts, etc.
The responsibility to implement the project will be given to two agencies, which will get 25 wards each. The agencies will get 70 per cent of the project cost after the completion. The remaining 30 per cent will be paid after three years. The agencies will have to update and maintain the database for three years
Under this project, mapping, measurement and surveyof all the properties will be done and the authenticity of their ownership verified. The DSSLR will issue what is called property cards or property titles to owners by charging a nominal fee.
I can only give you update about Bangalore. Malleswaram, Yeshwantpur, Rajajinagar, Jayanagar East, Siddapura and Yediyur are some areas who are going to get property ownership card for now
Hi Sagar, there is a delay... Urban Property Ownership Record which envisages distribution of property titles or property cards to private immovable property owners is likely to be launched in Bangalore by October-end.
