I own a Apt.and a plot in Mohali , but not registered yet on my name.

Q: Now they ask me to register yhese on my name and pay property tax on them. The cost of the Apt. is about Rs.30,00000 & plot Rs. 10,00000. Some says i have to pay property tax about 14% and some says 9% of the total costs of the unit.Please tell me what would be theAurate %age rate they will charge for taxes. THANKS IN ADVANCE KUMAR

when did you buy the property and i think it will be calculated on the total property not on land differntly or the house differnetly. Although my frnd said that 9 % of total cost is the acurate charge.

I think now as the budget is also passed, you should check with the authority for the perfect percentage . Because there will be some change in the percentage. Although the info given is already good and productive. Check with ethe local authority.

Hi..as per my knowledge..the mohali district is divided into seven zones namely A, B, C, D, E, F and G for imposing property tax. Sectors 54, 55 and 56 falls in Zone A and Vilages are included in Zone G. The Zone A will have highest tax rates followed by Zone B and the least is Zone G. Your property falls in which zone..??

Hello Mr Jassal... Yeah the Municipal corporation of Mohali has decided to impose property tax due to lack of funds. It would be implemented from April 1, 2013 but would be considered from Nov 15, 2012.
