Any updates on Kolkata flyover collapse?

Q: Hi all, how did the flyover collapsed in Kolkata? What is the reason behind the incident? Are they planning to alter or demolish it now? Any updates in this issue please?

I guess it will be rebuilt.. it is a prime location of the city and gives good connectivity to commuters.. so it has to be done..

But anyways the incident did not cause much damage.. except for the truck that fell down and the construction cost that was wasted on it.. how is the bridge now? will that be rebuilt in the same place or just abandoned?

It was told earlier itself that the construction is weak, and needs to be checked.. ANd the govt did not bother to get it altered. If it had strenthened then that mishap would not have occurred..

Where is this flyover located in Kolkata? Was that a old construction? What will be done next? Is there any information regarding this?

Hi Nandakishore, the flyover collapsed on Sunday early morning at around 4.30 am. The quality was not good, that's why it collapsed. Cracks were there before also but nobody cared about it ans this is what happened.
