You can pay the property tax in cash, by cheque, DD or pay order at select branches of nine banks namely HDFC Bank, IDBI Bank, Canara Bank, Corporation Bank, Induslnd Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Yes Bank, Indian Overseas Bank and ING Vysya Bank. You can collect the application forms at BengaluruOne centres, bank branches and ARO offices on payment of Rs 5 or fill up the form online and submit it at the centre chosen.
You can make the online payment through BBMP's website with the help of VIsa debit cards or Master Card issued from any banks and transaction charges will not be charged.
Even you can pay the property tax through net banking. People having account on 33 specified banks can avail the net banking procedure through the IndusInd payment gateway.
The new financial year has started on April 1, 2013 and there is a provision to revise the property tax rate based on the guidance value fixed by the Stamp and Registration Department in the limits of the BBMP. Hey Himanshu, As far as I know BBMP Standing Committee on Tax and Finance has submitted a proposal to increase unit rates of property tax by 20 percent for residential properties and 25 percent for the commercial properties in January this year. Any update after that?
Hello Guys!!! As per my knowledge, The BBMP had proposed a revision on tax to the state government in November 2011 itself. The revised of tax did not take place because of the strong protest from elected representative and the general public who demanded the government to extend the time period from three years to five years.
