In a move to take the bite out and go easy on the small scale entrepreneurs, in acquiring the clearances from various departments (such as Town and Country Planning Department and Public Health Department) for residential constructions, the Single Window System was proposed. Experts quote that it would positively help the investment scenario in the country, since investors can skip out on the 20 odd clearances required for a project.

According to government officials, the state has constructed nearly 11 lakh housing units in the last 4.5 years (out of which 80% of the demand originated from LIG and EWS sections). With the help of the new online system, developers will secure all the required clearances (starting from land to utility), without standing in the queue outside the departmental offices. This would speed up the construction process beyond imagination.
