Hi Ramesh, To deconjest the traffic around the Kalyan station, MMRDA has constructed a 1.4 km skywalk at a cost of Rs. 84 crore which is the 3rd largest skywalk after Borivili and Thane. Also heard that a new monorail project is being proposed by MMRDA linking Kalyan-Thane with Navi Mumbai over a 3 year duration at a cost of 3000 crore. The project is still in the planning stage.
A four lane expressway is also under consideration which will enable people to travel between Virar- Vasai in western suburbs via Kalyan to Panvel in a matter of few hours. The expressway will have wide foothpaths, subways, over bridges and service roads connecting major towns along the route. With all these developments and projects Kalyan is all set to be another resourcefully, economically and socially developed suburb of Mumbai.
Hello Suresh, The township receives its power from MSEB. The inner arterial roads and main roads are being developed by MSRDC. Though some portion of the road were dug up for relaying optic fibre cable and sewage they were in sorrowful state. But the concerned authorities have completed all the pending works in recent times. The locality also receives adequate water supply as it boasts of an eco friendly waste treatment plant and a water cleaning plant.

Kalyan is well connected by road and rail mode of transport. Buses operated by KDMT not only ply within the city limits but also provides routine bus services to nearby villages and townships. NMMT buses are also available from Kalyan station to Vashi and other parts of Navi Mumbai at a frequency of every 15 minutes.

Kalyan is also a major railway junction for many long distance trains. Kalyan Terminus is also one of the last railway junction for the Mumbai locals operating under Central line.

I am not expert to give advice but i will try to help you, Kalyan is good locality i must say. For investors it is good place because currently rates are quite low in kalyan compare to other localities in Mumbai.
