I do not think there is any need for the new runway. The airport already that the capacity to handle 1,70,000 passenger. No point...

Yet final decision has net been taken, they final decision will come by the end of this year and full-fledged work will start in the last quarter of this year. Now the passenger traffic is 1,20,000 and it is expected that passenger traffic may cross 20 million, then the ATM requirement will be roughly 3,50,000. The new runway and terminal will be able to accommodate that

First of all they are planning to have a design competition for the T-2 building. The Kempegowda International Airport will begin civil works on both by the end of this year.

Yes you are right Japesh. The proposal for the design competition has been initiated. All permissions for the second runway will be obtained before the civil works begin. :) :)
