Not just DDA, the three power companies of BSES Rajdhani, BSES Yamuna, Tata power as well as Delhi university, and Delhi police ,owes the corporation lots of property tax.

Yes and the court has directed the DDA and Corportaions to settle the issue and identify the properties... it seems that the North Delhi and South Delhi corporations had clearly stated that the Nazul land ceases to be union properties after its given to DDA. Total of 23 area like Karol Bagh, Jhandewalan, Darya ganj, aliganj etc comes under this category.

Hmm there is this tussle between the 3 civic bodies of delhi and the DDA over whether or not the DDA is supposed to pay property tax... they argue that since DDA is a property of Union of India, its not supposed to pay tax. as far as i know the matter is in court now.

The mayor of north Delhi has sent a letter to the Lt Governor of Delhi asking that the taxes be paid to them as they are facing shortage of funds in the absence of the government.. DDA has filed a writ petition in the court stating that it is liable to pay only service tax
