How is the social infrasructure in Poonamelle ? Can you let me know some good and reputed schools and colleges ?

Poonamalee is rapidly developing locality. It is very near to proposed Greenfield airport. It is surrounded by famous schools like Chennai Public school, Engineering Colleges like Panimalar, SKR, Sastha, Pratyusha etc. Medical Colleges like Saveetha, ACS etc.

Some of the popular schools in Poonamallee are Arignar Anna Government Higher Secondary School. Other schools are such as Sundar Matriculation Higher Secondary School, St.Joseph's Matriculation Higher Secondary School,Christ Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kalashetra Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Holy Crescent Matriculation Higher Secondary School,Arignar Anna Govt Higher Secondary School, , New St.Joseph's Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Sathya Matriculation School,Sarojini Varadappan Higher Secondary School, Daniel Matriculation School, Apollo Vidyashram.Gokulam Pavilion,Malliga Theatre,Bhagavathi Theatre, Vigneshwara Theatre etc

It has lots of colleges, schools & Hospitals with in 5 km circle, located on State Highway No-55 (Poonamallee-Avadi Road) in close proximity to educational institutes (SA College & Maha Lakshmi Womens College) which is surrounded by amenities like temple, petrol bunk, schools, ATM etc.

In Poonamallee the apartments are available within the price range of Rs 3,000-Rs 4,000 per sq ft. The prices for apartments have almost doubled in the past two years and a similar trend is expected in the future with both social and physical infrastructure coming up in the area.

Several completed and on-going projects by developers such as Godrej Properties, Golden Homes, Roma Housing, Kaalash Foundations, Chandru Gardens, etc are present in the Poonamallee locality . This would enhance the connectivity of the locality. The prices in Poonamallee are expected to rise by Rs 800-1200 per sq ft. Average apartment prices in this locality range from Rs. 3,500/- to 4,900/- per sq. ft.Average land prices are Rs. 2, 000/- to 6, 000 per sq. ft.

@Srinivas; Poonamallee is very fast developing area due to the latest connectivity to outer ring road, bus depot and proposed mono rail etc. It is an upcoming and most happening suburb of Chennai and also it is one of the most connected places by road in Chennai.

As far as I know it lies on the Bangalore High Way and happens to be the west entrance for the city. The proposed airport expansion and city expansion (satellite city) is happening in its vicinity. Located nearby the major industrial workhouses, Hyundai, Nokia etc. It serves as an ideal destination among the city suburbs. It is said that this locality is good for investment, you can get good returns in 3 to 5 years.

The town of Poonamallee is situated at a distance of 23 kilometers from Fort St George and 17 kilometers from Sriperumbudur on the Chennai-Bangalore Highway. It is located at the end of the Mount-Poonamallee Road, 11 kilometers from Guindy and 13 kilometers from Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus on the Chennai Bypass.

@Srinivas: Excellent connectivity, proximity to IT hubs and availability of well-developed infrastructure have ensured that in spite of being a commercial hub. Poonamalle is receiving its fair share of residential demand as well. Also prices in Anna Nagar and Porur have resulted in the demand for residential housing shifting towards Poonamallee, which is situated close to these localities yet within the affordable range. :)

Poonamalle is now developing area for real estate due to industrial developments around Sriperubuthur and also has connectivity to Thambaram, Koyambedu, Porur-Guindy and It is located exactly 3 km from Avadi Railway Station and is directly connected to Chennai-Bangalore National Highway.

Guys also It is the hot spot for property seekers. It almost becomes a center point for West-Chennai people to board buses to go to Vellore, Hosur and Bangalore. And It has got the new Satellite-City to his next and also the up coming international airport (green field) very close to it.

It is just 13 kilometres from Chennai bus terminuson the Chennai bypass. The nearest railway station is at Avadi which is just 9 km away. It is also an important halting point for buses starting from Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus and going towards Tirupati, Kanchipuram, Vellore etc.
