Hey, the power situation in V. V. Mohalla might improve pretty soon. The Ministry of Power has recently approved Mysore’s first ever smart grid pilot project. The project will cover parts of V. V. Mohalla. The residential areas of V. V. Mohalla like Jayalakshmipuram, Vinayaka Nagar, Gokulam, and so on, will be covered by the smart grid project. I think the power situation in these areas will improve before the rest of the city. So if you’re thinking of shifting into Mysore, I’d suggest that you buy/rent property in any of those areas.
V. V. Mohalla, along with the whole of Mysore has been suffering from severe power shortages. The conditions are even worse in the rural areas falling under the jurisdiction of the Mysore city Corporation (MCC).
V. V. Mohalla gets power supply from the Chamundeswari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC), which is currently under severe power shortage. These power outages can get problematic during the hot summer months, as there are some water supply issues as well.
Mysore has been suffering from serious power shortages lately. There are almost daily power cuts, which last for a minimum average of 2 hours. Sometimes the power cuts last for almost the entire day.
This is due to the sudden influx of population in the city. If you are new to the city, you will have some problems at first with all the frequent and long power cuts. Don’t worry, you’ll soon get used to them.
