Q: Are property prices and Indian currency expected to get strengthened since there is a new government formed? Also I am an NRI and willing to buy a property in Kochi. Are there many NRIs investing in properties in India?
The new government looks promising and the general public reception of the government is also good. So considering all these, the realty sector and currency will strengthen. Also NRIs like you prefer to buy properties in the range of 20 to 40 lakh rupees. And most of them prefer to buy apartments as opposed to individual houses or villas
Hey, yes you’re right. The real estate market and Indian Rupee is expected to grow stronger in the coming months. Just like you, there are many NRIs living in UAE willing to invest in properties in Kerala. Also there are other cities whose realty prices are likely to go up, which include Kolkata, Ahmadabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Chennai, Pune, Noida, Gurgaon, and Bangalore. In the last year alone, NRI investments in Indian real estate estimated around $2 billion. The last year also marked a steep increase of around 35% in NRIs buying homes across the country, making a contribution of 12% in the total apartment sales in India.
