How should an apartment without an association apply/get a new water connection?

Q: We are a group of 6 flats as part of an apartment in Bangalore, and we do not yet have a formal association. In such a situation, what is the best way to apply for a water (Cauvery) connection from the authorities?

Hi Srinivasan, It is not necessary for the association to be registered but having the association registered will get legal benefits. You can read an article here Formation of Apartment Owners Association, Bangalore-Karnataka

Thanks Sreya,
But without an association I am wondering how the application can be submitted and the ownership be transferred to all the residents of the different blocks? Basically, how would this legally work?

Hello Srinivasan, Usually the water connection is given by the builder only. Is your property B Khata, if yes convert it to A Khata by paying the betterment charges. After that you can also apply for Cauvery water connection if water supply is there in that area. You can also visit the BWSSB office for further information.

There is no builder - all the apartments that are part of this block are owned by individual owners. How would that work in such a context? Thanks Armaan
