Construction status of the signal-free corridors

Q: Still now the construction work have not started. I want to know when they are going to start the project and when can we expect smooth communication.

First, the Lok Sabha elections put a spanner in the works, now political apathy has brought them to a halt.
Also,They pointed out that local MLAs have to take the initiative and help in acquisition of land. But that hasn't happened, they said.

The corridors were approved by the cabinet in January 2014. According to sources the construction work will start in sometime.

Both the corridors will be four lanes. Dr Rajkumar Road corridor stretches from the Government Soap Factory to Okalipuram which will be 6 kms. The corridor will passes through Yeshwantpur, Rajajinagar, Mahalakshmi Layout and Gandhinagar assembly constituencies.

Old Airport Road corridor, which begins at ASC junction (near Vellara junction) and ends at Kundalahalli, passes through Shanthinagar, Mahadevapura, KR Puram and CV Raman Nagar constituencies will be around 16.5 kms

What is the reason for the delay in the construction work?

The project is getting delayed because for the Lok Sabha Elections and now political apathy. Tender has already been approved two months ago for two corridors namely Dr Raj Kumar Road and Old Airport Road but contractors are not able to hit the ground running.

What else can be the status obviously DELAY :( :( After six months, the cabinet gave green signal for the construction of five signal-free corridors to reduce the city's traffic woes. But the construction work has not started yet.
