Q: I recently read in the news that Yadavagiri is going to be a prominent locality for investment. But does the locality face any sort of civic issues?

This is a good locality. It is in close vicinity of many IT centres and well established schools. Definitely has lots of room for improvement but that is true with all of Mysore! Apartment buildings are the most preferred here. I think it's because there are more employees who are bachelors, renting apartments. But there are also a lot of residential projects in the locality. Civic issues will easily be fixed in the near future. But this locality makes a lot of sense to live and invest in.

Hey that's right! The Mysore Industries Association has funds from the new state budget to develop 3 industrial areas in Mysore, namely Visveshwaranagar, Yadavagiri and Bannimantap. They also have plans for the Kabini project where they will be able to supply 6 million litres of drinking water! Now, if Yaddavgiri is going to have further development this is good news because real estate value will increase in this area. It is already quite high as it is one of the prominent localities in Mysore. And all these civic issues are sure to reduce if not completely disappear because of these new developmental changes. :)

Yes Yaddavgiri has been known for the dangers during these heavy rains. Even in 2006, when the situation was very bad and there were lack of civic facilities, a man got washed away in an open drain. This has happened multiple times after that. Even though Yaddavgiri is supposed to be one of the better developed places in the city, such civic problems still arise. And sometimes drainage seeps onto the streets making the whole neighbourhood stink! The civic facilities are better now but the residents still need to be very apprehensive when it rains.

Hey so Yaddavagiri is a nice locality which has good potential but last year it faced many problems because of the heavy rains. What happened was the rains were very strong and because of that lot of power cuts happened throughout the city including Yaddavgiri. Roads became very bad and next day it was not possible to use the roads at all. Electric poles fell and blocked the roads. It was actually a very dangerous situation! That too Yaddavgiri being an industrial hub and all that.
