Corrupt municipal officers in Mahalaxmi Nagar

Q: Hey everybody. I recently heard of an issue with the Indore municipal corporation in the locality of Mahalaxmi nagar regarded illegal constructions. What was the problem and has it been resolved?

Hello. This is a very troubling situation indeed. From what I know about the locality of Mahalakshmi Nagar, malaria is now becoming commonplace and this could get much more dangerous than it already is. The drainage even overflows on the road sometimes, and when IMC officers were approached they seemed incapable of resolving the problem. Living in this area is becoming very troublesome for almost everyone, and corporation is of no use in helping out.

I agree with Rashika, the issue is a matter of a frustrating level of carelessness on the part of the municipal corporation. The construction is a high compound wall that is 50 meters in height and has a front which is covered with MOS and disrupts the houses all around the erection. When the notice was issued by municipal corporation’s chief officer, it was assumed that action will be taken against the problem but it was not. This is clearly bringing out the corruption of the officer from the indore municipal corporation and the trust that residents have placed in them is quickly diminishing.

Greetings to you. I am a resident of Mahalakshmi nagar and I have experienced such problems living here that I think I can pretty much speak for everyone living here. The biggest problem we are facing currently is that the main sewage line of the indore municipal corporation is not connected to the drainage line of the area. It was still working quite fine for the last few months because all the waste was directed towards an agricultural field. Recently the line has been blocked by the owner of this land for whatever reason and now we are put in a situation that is getting worse every day.
