Hey guys, I’m assuming that you haven’t heard of the demolition that happened there. Yeah, the GHMC has just recently demolished 24 illegal constructions at the Gurukul trust funds lands. Another 125 properties have been red-marked as illegal constructions. The water supply and electricity connections have been disconnected to these unauthorized buildings. The GHMC are actually taking this whole situation very seriously, they are even organizing campaigns to educate people more on the issues of land encroachment and illegal constructions.

Yeah, I really like the stance the CM is taking on this matter of illegal constructions on the Gurukul trust lands. He has seriously condemned malpractices of this kind. I think he is even going to be disconnecting the electricity and water supply connection to all these illegal buildings. He had already promised that he would reclaim all these illegally encroached upon lands in his campaign. Its good to see that he’s actually acting on his promise.

The last time I heard about it, the new prime minister of Telengana, K. Chandrasekhar Rao was promising us that he wouldn’t let those Gurukul trust fund lands be encroached upon. He assured the public that necessary measures are being taken to prevent repetition of this kind of land encroachment issues in the future. As of now the illegal construction works on these lands have been stopped, and the CM has already instructed the GHMC to see to it that nothing like this happens again.

Well nothing much; just that after the whole issue was brought up, the case went on in the court for quite some time. But I think it was in September of 2012 that the Supreme Court ruled in favour of the Gurukul trust funds and passed that all the illegal occupants of that land will have to provide the Gurukul trust with equivalent land as compensation. The authorities were also notified to evict whoever was not ready to follow these steps towards regularization of these properties.

I don’t know much about this issue. From what I’ve heard, there were a number of illegal constructions on these lands. They are located at Khanapur, near Hitech City, right? There were a number of MNC buildings, plus properties owned by several prominent politicians and filmstars even! The whole issue came to light when the TRS were investigating the claims of Telengana lands being illegally occupied by Seemandhra people. I’m myself curious to know what happened further.

'Eenadu', Telugu Daily, Hyderabad has reported on 19-2-15 that Govt. has decided to regularise the constructions in Gurukul Trust land. It is brought to the kind notice of Hon. CM that low income people have purchased 166 plots 31 years back in the year 1984 from an approved lay-out by Injapur Gram Panchayat in Munaganur Village, Hayathnagar Mandal and were duly registered by the Sub-Registrar (East), Hyderabad. However, the Revenue Authorities did not allow the owners to construct their houses there on the pretext that it was Govt. assigned land.
When questioned as to how Govt. land was registered, Registrar, RR Dist. informed APHRC that no record was available to show it was Govt. land and in Aug.1991.
Hon CM is requested to regularise the same and give the much needed relief to them.
