Q: Hey, can anyone tell me what’s new on the Union Budget 2014-15 for Hyderabad, especially in the IT department? I’m a prospective real estate investor, and Hyderabad is one of my major options for an investment.
Yes even I’m very hopeful that there will be a fresh flow of young entrepreneurs into the city who are always eager to invest in the real estate market. This year’s budget was mostly about pushing forward these entrepreneurships. I’m also very impressed to see how they have decided to tackle the rising inflation by providing some tax relief to individual tax payers. We are also hoping that on the other hand all these national accelerators and incubators around the country will propagate development even further.
Yes, under this new budget, transfer pricing for the existing multinational companies in the Hyderabad IT sector is being focussed upon mostly, along with e-visas and retrospective taxes. Along with the growth of smart cities and REITs, I’m very hopeful about the IT sector in Hyderabad. But I feel the biggest boost to the real estate market in Hyderabad will be provided by the number of start-ups that will be able to grow here, thanks to this budget.
I think currently Hyderabad is on track to become the next IT capital of the country after Bangalore. This is the highest job producing industry in the city, and any dev elopments here will ultimately lead to more growth in real estate. Oh and as you were asking, I think the latest union budget has a number of interesting projects lined up for Hyderabad’s IT sector. I myself have heard about Rs 10,000 crores budget allocated for start-up funding. According to FDI this will help the domestic IT consumption.
