Are the Floods Affecting Investment in Khandwa Road?

Q: Hey, I have been planning to invest in one of the properties in Khandwa road. I have almost made up my mind about this property because I like the area, but I recently heard that there were some flood issues in the area. Can someone please tell me about this whole flood situation at khandwa road and advice if it’s still a good option to invest there?

Hi all,
Khandwa Road is one of the fast developing surrounding of Indore, because of the presence of so many reputed schools and colleges the area has turned in to the educational hub of Indore.Khandwa road is a prime location! It has an excellent neighbourhood and is extremely well developed. Property value will definitely appreciate. I feel it's a very good choice to live in with family because it's a residential area. It's roughly about 2.5 km from IT Park Indore, University Campus and IIT. Good public transportation to reach other parts of the city.

Well Ravu,
But the price trends on Khandwa Road have been witnessing various ups and downs. In the July-Sep quarter of 2013, the locality price appreciated to Rs 1975/sq-ft. In the April - June quarter of 2014, the locality price appreciated to Rs 2290/sq-ft. The price appreciation of this locality in the future might be very good.

Oh yea! I totally agree. The issues were faced by people in the Khandwa district, so movement between Khandwa and other districts became a little tight. Khandwa road is perfectly safe from these floods. As far as I’m concerned khandwa road is one of the best maintained highways in Indore, and real estate there is catching up quickly because of the serenity of the place. I suggest you read a couple of news articles regarding this, all your doubts will get cleared. Good luck!

I think the area Khandwa road as such did not get affected by the floods, but the Khandwa district got severely hit. This caused disruption in the roads and routes between Khandwa and Indore. So, I think people are getting confused just because the name Khandwa is popping with these floods. I would suggest that if you have found a nice property in the area, you shouldn’t really worry about this. Good luck with your investment!

Hey there! This is a pretty recent news actually. You must have heard of the flash floods that have been going around in Madhya Pradesh. It is all because of the heavy rains affecting the low lying areas in and around MP. I think few of the areas in Khandwa got affected due to their close proximity with the Agni river, which got flooded due to the rains. I hear it was a pretty bad scene in the low lying areas of Khandwa. However, I don’t think the prime areas in the khandwa road, Indore got affected, so you should your investment should not be affected by this.
