The argument going on right now is that instead of extending the road all the way from Kangeyapalayam to Neelambur, just develop and extend the road between Mettupalayam and Neelambur. Many just feel that the proposed extension is unnecessary, instead focus should be shifted to areas where roads and extensions are need.
Well, as a part of this project, the government will be acquiring a lot of farm lands from these farmers. The farmers never get the actual land’s worth from the Government, so it’s only natural that they will protest. The project is great for people like us, but not so great for the farmers and landowners in surrounding areas of Mettupalayam, Narasimhanaikenpalayam, etc.
Well, this project is a nice one, connecting the eastern part of Coimbatore to the Northern part of the city. But, well, issues always pop with these projects. Farmers and residents who live on the proposed route area are protesting against it.
