Q: Hey people, I heard some construction company got the Gandhipuram flyover project? Last I heard, it was still getting approved. What’s happening?

There is some traction now on this. I saw the lamp posts on the median between G'puram Signal & Alankar being removed today.

Our airport is seeing negative growth. Last fiscal year they had Rs.11 crore loss. I remember they needed 629 acres land for the development, 612 acres got sanctioned in 2010, but do you know what the final notification issued? 120 acres.

Forget that, work has already started! The work will go on for the next 33 months in full swing. Now, only issue will be the route, people will have to take detours.

A couple of months back, they stalled the idea of expanding the 9,810 feet runway to 12,500 feet, and no integrated terminal as well. From the looks of it, if nothing is done within this year, then Coimbatore won’t be seeing any international operations for sure.

I hear that Coimbatore wants to start International operations soon. Wonder how that will happen without any proper course of action on the land acquisition. There is a huge protest and hesistance from the people in the area. I don’t what middle grounds they will agree upon.

Behold, I am going to give you a happy news. Some construction company called KNR Constructions won this order only a little while back. So all approvals done, I hope nothing pops up now.
