Latest Answer: Oh the drainage! I remember reading a lot about this drainage in some complaint letter the residents of GV residency sent to the mayor or the corporation. People complained a lot about foul smell, overflowing dirty water during monsoons. I've never been to GV residency, so I don’t know if they fixed it or not, but I hope they did. Otherwise, monsoons can become a little annoying.

But, if you see most gated community villas, this will be a common problem. These villas are more like compact villas, for compact living. Also, I see that this Mayflower Annapoorna Villas are being sold at Rs.8,300 per sqft that is close to Rs. 1.35 Cr for a villa. Isn't the average rate close to Rs.6, 600 in this area?

Latest Answer: Hey Green fields isn't the only one. You have other similar plots like Globuse Gardens, which are plots near the Elysium project. These aren't very expensive, and are being sold at Rs.1,318 per sq ft, so if you buy a 2400 sqft land, it’ll cost you around 31.6 lacs. Actually, there many to even list down the names. That’s the thing about plots and land purchase, there are just too many sellers.

Q: I heard there were a number of parks going to be built here in Coimbatore. What’s the status on that?
Latest Answer: Yeah, you must have heard of the Mint Homes controversy? Yeah, even that was built on a reserve site. Its in Sowripalayam, the builder just went and constructed a swimming pool, a clubhouse and a sewage treatment plant on this site, without any permission. So obviously the corporation had to destroy it. Another good thing the corporation is doing is they are trying to get the residential welfare associations and some voluntary groups to help in the whole turning the reserve sites into parks project. The meetings have been done with few months back, but I don’t think the project has yet started.

Q: How has the job market been for Coimbatore over the past few years? I’m asking because I wanted to invest in the real estate in this city. I want to figure out how the prospects are for Coimbatore.
Latest Answer: Yes I agree with him. We were all expecting to see a lot of changes in the city, post 2007. So a lot of us went ahead and invested in property. Though we have managed to make it through easily, we didn’t get the perks of the huge development that was promised. We were expecting a number of high income jobs in the city. So we invested in a number of high profile residential projects, only to find later on that there weren’t enough takers for those.

Latest Answer: The coimbatore civic corporation is currently involved in putting up banners and spreading awareness about this new rule to all the residents. At least they are trying to inform everybody instead of blindly taking action without even mentioning it to any of the residents. People might feel edgy to move to Nanjandanpuram now because of this but I'm sure this problem will be dealt with the same way all over Coimbatore. Atleast, by the end of this, if everybody adheres and pays the tax, then maybe Coimbatore can finally enjoy some improved civic facilities in the area.

Mysore actually recorded an alarming rise in the amount of suspended particulate matter, which is basically the amount of pollution in the air. But the good news is that the World Environmental Service Organisation has begun to address this as a serious issue, and the KSPCB is also working on it. But yeah, if you get a good job offer here, I would recommend you take it.
