Q: I am going to rellocate from America soon, and I'll be coming back to occupy my ancestral home in Himayatnagar. The problem is, I've never lived there in my life! Please help me out by telling something of the area.
Also garbage dumping is rampant in this locality, behind the Melkote park. Thing is there already was a garbage bin in this spot. but it never got properly cleaned out, so its now overflowing with garbage. The whole place stinks badly.
There is also the problem of land encroachment in Himayatnagar. This is basically a major reason for the delayed work of the GHMC. Many people have built properties on lands that don't belong to them. And now they are refusing to leave. So this is another delay to complete the infrastructure works.
Id suggest you to steer clear of Ashok Nagar in Himayatnagar. There is this massive open drain that breeds mosquitoes, causes illnesses, malaria, and water borne diseases. And a very horrible stench keeps coming. Its actually the Hussain Sagar naala.
Property prices in Himayatnagar are stable as they have mostly been. It’s a good place to invest property, and a decent locality with access to all the modern amenities like hospitals and shopping complexes. Independent houses that you can buy in this neighbourhood are quite hard to come by these days, and almost inevitably expensive.
As a person who’s lived in America, I think you won’t mind Himayatnagar. This locality is supposed to be one of the most literate neighbourhoods in not just the city, but the entire state. It’s got a literacy rate of 80%.
I wouldn’t say anything about the safety in Himayatnagar, since it’s well-lit at night and constantly by policeman. But, the traffic there is a headache you’ll have to deal. Especially during those peak traffic hours.
If you’re ever feeling bored, just head out to the Himayatnagar Main Road. You’ll be surprised by all the facilities it offers. Some of the most recognizable brands like Nike, Puma, Subway, etc. have set up shop over there.
Himayatnagar is an established area in Hyderabad. Maybe not classy, but definitely an upper middle-class neighbourhood. It’s really difficult to get a place in localities like that these days, because they’ve been there for decades now.
