Q: Moving to Kochi soon for work, my office will be in the Kochi Infopark. Is the locality of Tripunithura a good place to live? How much rent do I have to pay for an apartment there? I’m moving with my wife and kids.
Yes, I agree with these guys, rent should be around 10k per month. Other than that, Tripunithura is a very nice locality to live in, especially if you have kids. There are good schools here, like the Global Public School and Choice school. The connectivity with other parts of the city is also very good. The Tripunithura Railway Station is one major transit point. Residents of this locality use the Vytilla Mobility Hub for transportation within the city. Overall, I think you should definitely go for this locality.
The exact rent amount will ultimately depend upon the type of apartment you are going for – number of bedrooms and total built-up area of the apartment. But roughly, a 2bhk will cost you between Rs 6000 and Rs 10000 per month, while a 3bhk will cost you from Rs 10000 to Rs 12500 per month approximately. Usually the average rate of rental apartments in this locality is Rs 8 per square foot. I think you should keep a minimum budget of at least Rs 10000.
Hey, welcome to Kochi. Its a nice city, you will be very comfortable here. Especially since the locality that you have chosen is one of the best here. A lot of families go for apartments in Tripunithura mainly because of its excellent social infrastructure and amenities. It is pretty close to the Kochi Infopark as well, it wont take you more than 20 minutes to get to office. You can check out the apartments for rent under the local brokers in Tripunithura, but it would be easier to just refer the Commonfloor webpage for this.
