Bad roads in Secunderabad

Q: Recently bought a house in Secunderabad, will be moving there shortly. I know that area has some problems regarding below standard roads and all. Can someone provide any information, so that I’ll be better prepared when I finally get there?

Yes I agree. The GHMC are refusing to take any responsibility for these issues. When asked about any solution, all they can say is that the people should make adjustments as the metro is being built for the public only. The traffic police are a bit more helpful about the situation. Ive heard that they even removed the barricades and widened the carriageways to help the pedestrians in Punjagutta. I hope they do the same in these places too.

Hey, its not just a bit of an inconvenience, come on! Its a proper traffic hazard! What if the pedestrian who is walking n the road cant see and approaching vehicle. Its totally not safe yaar. That area near the Patny junction is so risky – all these vehicles zooming past and the pedestrians forced to walk on the road. Another problem road is the S.P. Road that connects Secunderabad with Begumpet. Here, the HMR has totally blocked the pedestrians way. And the worst part is that they don’t even create any alternate paths for us either.

Secunderabad is fine otherwise, but there is some problem regarding the road networks. What I mean to say is that due to the ongoing works for the HMR, a lot of these roads are facing some blockage issues. The pedestrians have to face some problems, especially in the stretch between Patny Traffic Junction and Secunderabad Cantonment Board. Actually the HMR has barricaded this part, so now the pedestrians have to literally walk along the carriageway. It is a bit of an inconvenience, especially during rush hours.
