Q: I heard there are a bunch of new roads being constructed in Hyderabad? Can anyone tell me a bit about these, I’m asking bcoz I’ll be investing in real estate soon and I need to make the right decision where.
I can, actually. There will be an 11.6km long road between Secunderabad Cantonment junction and old Alwal, a 12km road between Survey of India to Medipally on NH 202, and a 9km road between Taranagar and Davaraguda. There will be two roads starting from the Nagole bridge, one towards Gourelly on ORR, and the other towards Singaram. Both of these are 14km long. The smallest is the one between Mansoorabad and Thattiannavarain Crossroad, which is just 4.8km long.
Yes, 300 crores is right. And the money is coming out of the capital road budget. Initially there was speculation of this project being funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The construction process is pretty interesting you know. 4 units have been considered as of now to take up four roads each. I know about a few of these, for example one of them will be a 7km long stretch from Punjagutta on the IRR till Edulanagulapally on the ORR, then another from Moosapet to BHEL junction on the IRR. I’m also interested to know about the others. Can anybody throw some light on that please?
Let me tell you a bit about the roads, and then you can make the decision on your own okay? A total of 33 radial roads have been planned. That is a total of almost 180km. These will mainly improve connectivity between the outer and the inner ring road. So you can imagine what a big help these will be to the whole transportation scene in Hyderabad. Initially the HMDA is only going to start work on 16 of these radial roads, I think the total cost of these 16 is a whopping 300 crore rupees.
Ekdum sahi you have heard. There is so many new roads coming up in Hyderabad right now, that its really confusing. But obviously its also going to be a major plus point in the real estate market of the city. I mean who wouldn’t want to live in a city that is well connected to even the furthest of its parts. I was advising my cousin also few days back, ki this is the right time to invest in Hyderabad. Thanks to the Telengana issue being sorted out, and also to the new government at the centre, things are going to go very smoothly for us.
