There needs to be a pay and park facility here, to be honest, otherwise this kind of nuisance will continue. But ive also heard that there is some kind of a multi-lot parking space coming up pretty soon at the Town Hall and in front of the Mysore zoo. Because of these shopkeepers who jam the whole space up with their cars, shoppers find it extremely difficult to park their cars around here. This is extremely detrimental to the business, i believe, and in the end the shoppers themselves are going to suffer.
I think this is will be a good opportunity for growth in Mysore because for starters it is going to open up a number of job opportunities. The official number of jobs that are expected to be created is actually 10,000. Very soon there will be an influx of employees flocking to the city, who will no doubt be also looking for real estate to either invest in or to live in. So I definitely am going to invest in the market here, before the price rise any higher. I’d advise you to do the same.
Well you’re not completely wrong. There are some issues here, I’ll admit, especially regarding parking. I guess its because of the immense number of shops over here. Its basically because the shopkeepers all park their cars on the allotted parking spaces and as a result the shoppers don’t get any space, to park, so they just do it on the streets, blocking it completely. It is really tough to drive through here, I make it a point to avoid this road whenever I’m driving by, otherwise I’ll be stuck forever.
Oh you’ve heard about the textile park in Mysore? Yeah, it was just announced in the Union Budget 2014-15. It is going to be a pretty big deal here in Mysore, because 15 entrepreneurs are going to be members of this scheme. The plan is to develop it under the special purpose vehicle scheme. So under this scheme the entrepreneurs will have to purchase land on their own. What we can expect from the government’s side is either a 40% investment or just a budget of Rs 20 crore, whichever is lower.
