Q: Hi. I am currently working in Bangalore and my job requires me to travel to Mysuru on a regular basis. It is very costly to travel in a cab and inconvenient to travel in a bus. I recently heard that the government was planning to construct a hi-speed rail link between the two cities. Does anyone have any information regarding this development?
I read that you don’t like travelling by buses. I can relate to that as buses are uncomfortable and there aren’t many facilities. But today, there are a few luxury options to choose from. Like the Raja Hamsa, the KSRTC is finishing work on its new service called Flybus. The buses will operate twice a day and will have many features like personal tv screens, pantry and chemical toilets and wi-fi.
I too read in the paper that the Government is planning is to make a hi-speed rail service between Mysore and Bangalore. However, taking into account Bangalore State government past record on infrastructure development, it could be years before this plan actually comes into action. While the idea is good, I suggest you keep other options like the Raja Hamsa which is a luxury bus service provided by KSRTC that operate to Mysore on a daily basis.
Hello. I recently read in the paper that the Karnataka State Government is proposing a hispeed rail link that will cover a distance of 140k between Mysore and Bangalore. The travel time is expected to be 30-35 minutes so that will surely suit your need.
