Bad living conditions for the Mysore pourakarmikas

Basically none of these pourakarmikas wanted to clean their own place. So M. Shivanna, Chairman of the National Safai Karamchari Commission asked the officials to appoint more pourakarmikas and buy more trucks and other machinery to collect and dispose garbage in these colonies.

It is really sad how the pourakarmikas have never been promoted once, even though they have provided service for 30 - 35 years.

Yes in the meeting they mainly discussed about improving the condition of these colonies, by closing the open drains, constructing underground draingae system, etc.

I think these problems exist in 23 colonies in total, and 12 pourakarmika quarters are affected by that. So thats why the pourakarmikas leaders had the meeting with the city corporation officials.

Yes its true. There are no proper underground drainage facilities over here. Even garbage collection doesnt happen that often. There was a meeting about this quite recently as well.
