Q: Ive heard that driving on the Pollachi road is not safe? Why so guys? Ive moved here recently, and I have to take this road to work, which i start from next week.
I heard that city police had studied the situation, then erected a make-shift median and posted a traffic constable to regulate traffic during peak hours. Other than that the residents had submitted a petition to the District Collector as well. Lets see what comes of that
Well the vehicles moving through the stretch still continue to move at the very speed they did earlier but thanks to the dividers, now at least they have moved on to the left of the road.
Oh no, but few days ago, we again went to the Coimbatore City Traffic Police for a solution and they responded with dividers on the road, which, to some extent, has regulated the traffic, i must say.
Yeah I know they did that. I even saw those barricades myself. But Im afraid that did not serve the purpose as the vehicles continued to move at great speeds, sometimes knocking down the metal barricades in the process.
I heard that the residents got so irritated at these speeding vehicles, that the members of the residents’ association took up the matter with the authorities concerned and as a solution barricades were placed as speed breakers.
Yeah, now that the road-over bridge across the railway crossing had been thrown open, vehicles moving from north to south towards the Eachanari temple zip past by at great speed. In the opposite direction it was no better
The problem is that the road is such that over speeding of vehicles and absence of street lights were the contributing factors for the increase in accidents.
Basically the Pollachi Main Road near the K.P.M. Matriculation School is the worst part of the road. There have even accidents resulting in fatalities over here. So be especially careful at this spot.
Yes this road is very dangerous. You should be very careful while riding over this road, especially if you're riding a two wheeler, those are really prone to accidents on this road.
