Q: Hey guys. Is it true that Google and Amazon and other IT companies want to make long term investments in Hyderabad? Can I have some more information on this? What sort of expansion plans do they have in Hyderabad?
This is very achievable in a city like Hyderabad, now that there is no longer political instability. The new govt is quite reliable and now people are working towards the overall growth and devlopment of the city.
ITIR will bring in an investment of 2 lakh crore 15 to 20 years with very high employment rate. Also Karimnagar is another growth area. Tier 2 cities are also gaining prominence now.
There are already 4 TCS facilities in the city and employment of 26,000 people. Within the next 3 to 5 years, Tata Consultancy would have also expanded.
Other developmental plans like ITIR region is also underway that will further the IT sector of the city. Warangal is another IT growth corridor that is coming up.
HSBC and TATA Consultancy Services also have expansion plans here. TATA is setting up a new facility in Adibatla that will generate jobs for 28,000 people.
The Amazon project will hopefully be completely by 2018 by which time the employment rate in this company would be close to more than 10,000 employees.
Again there was some legal issues related to land. but apparently amazon wants to build 1.6 million square feet facility which will be its biggest campus after the one in US.
In 2007, the state government had allotted 20 acres of land in Kokapet for Google but now there is some land issue. the matter will be sorted out soon though.
