Hi Monica, According to me due to heavy pressure from Urban Developement Ministry & PM's Swachh Bharath abhijan ,BBMP woke up from it's deep sleep & started throwing rules & regulation to every one with out judging anything. Just think of how come apartment people will manage the waste they generate . That the civic body collects Rs 60 as garbage cess from every property tax payer has only rubbed salt into their wounds.
Yes , I completely agreed with Manjunath. In my point of view, this new rule is not suitable for small apartments. I think BBMP can't go beyond court proceedings and burden smaller apartments. There are many apartments that do not have space to manage waste. We still don't have a wet waste composter and hand over segregated waste to the BBMP. But if they want us to do it all, then why should we pay them the garbage cess.
How come only 25 dry waste collection center will help in Bangalore. We need more. Even if we segregate waste in our apartment and encourage it in the layout also. But the contractor who picks it up from the ward opens each of the bags and mixes them all in his trucks. There is nothing the BBMP has done to stop them
As per my knowledge, what i see every day , i was hoping some day BBMP will wake up & do some actual cleaning work . But i didn't expect like this kind of rules which is not even adjustable. Apart from the cess, the BBMP also takes Rs 30,000 for taking away garbage from Diamond District. Why should we pay them at all?
