The project cost is now pegged at Rs 134 crore, higher by Rs 30 crore from Rs 104 crore in 2008-09. The cost of land acquisition is estimated at Rs 6.09 crore, building acquisition at Rs 1.50 crore, and construction of the elevated road at Rs 127 crore. The project cost of the Shivananda Circle steel bridge is pegged at Rs 46.7 crore.
As per my knowledge, Bridges at Minerva Circle and Shivananda Circle in six months and complete them in another six months. The 3-km long dream project was first announced some 16 years ago :( :(
The Minerva Circle elevated road will link Minerva Circle junction with Hudson Circle near St. Martha's Hospital. The Shivananda Circle bridge308 metre long, will be located at the intersection of Hare Krishna Road and Kumara Krupa Road.
Both the bridges are located in the Central Business District (CBD) and witness heavy traffic. These two bridges will therefore, minimize the need for traffic diversion and consequent annoyance to the public.
The detailed project report was tabled in the council in the year 2004, but the plan was dropped after civil engineers came up with the idea of a core Inner Ring Road to ease the city's traffic woes. :( :(
