Thanks to the aiadmk government ,it has changed the plan from 3tier bridge to 2 tier bridge ,because 3 tier bridge is not necessary in places like gandhipuram, underground proposed in 3 tier plan will lead to water stagnation , and underground will be ideal place for criminals . aiadmk government is moving in right direction

Thanks dear for updating us....

The State Highways Department is hopeful of completing works for the main carriageway from Park Gate junction on Nanjappa Road to Cross Cut Road junction in another two months in the Gandhipuram flyover project.

It is a 2 tier flyover project expected to be completed 2017. The first segment is a 1.75 km four lane flyover that will end near the omni bus stand in Sathyamangalam Road. And the second segment is a two lane flyover for 1.22 km till the Avarampalayam junction.

From what i know the vendors on the street hav ebeen asked to vacate and they have been alloted alternate working spaces. That should help I think. I also heard that workshops have been set up just to supply precast girders for the construction work of this flyover.

I am worried about the land acquisition though. The officials have assured that there won't be much trouble acquiring the private lands along the Sathyamangalam Road and Nanjappa Road to help in this flyover work. But then the government, I hope, must have devised compensatory measures.

This flyover is basically supposed to pave way for the construction of a completely new bus stand with in built shopping complex and all. That will replace the old Mofussil Depot in Gandhipuram with some parking multiplex. I mean to say that there is a queue of construction projects on this road, which is essentially the busiest place in Coimbatore.

I often take the nanjappa road via the tediously congested Gandhipuram signal. With this construction work having started, I dread every single time I have to take the route. But the inconvenience has not been as bad as it seemed. The use of technology means they can finish a days work in an hour. That has helped the traffic officials to regulate the traffic effectively around the work site.

Yes yes! It is also true that German technology is being used for the construction of this flyover. That would mean the project will be completed on time in 2017. If the state government actually pushes through, we can see the results I guess.

Yes boss. It is true that the project is gaining momentum. Last week only the main change was felt. They demolished the foot bridge that is there in Gandhipuram signal. Basically no one uses it these days I guess. But still it was the main blockage to the construction of the flyover.

Yeah. i also heard it in the news. The senior state highway officials were saying that they could complete upto 25 percent of the foundation work for the construction in a record time of 4 months. All thanks to German based pumps and bore drills customized for heavy duty road construction.
