Hi there, did you know that extraction of sand has become illegal in the wake of the Supreme Court order, and Superintendent of Mysuru district Abhinav Khare said the police are continuing to crackdown on illegal extraction and transportation of sand in the district.

Hey another interesting aspect of this sand scarcity issue is the use of M sand. PWD officials said they were using either M sand (manufactured sand) or the sand seized by the police and released by the court to execute government projects.

Hello buddy, good news that the sand scarcity is within control now. But the Builders Association of India has said that while they are receiving a constant supply of sand, most of it is delivered during the night, so that causes inconviniece to the builders.

Hi, yeah finally the sand issue is resolved, at least for now. I would like to add that one truckload of sand (about 200 cubic feet) is available for a price ranging from Rs. 13,000 to Rs. 15,000, while a large truckload (of around 400 cu ft) is available from Rs. 26,000 to Rs. 30,000.

Hey there, yes the sand availability has improved, and the sand lorry owners and drivers have called off their strike following an assurance by the district administration that it will facilitate transport of sand from neighbouring Hassan and Mandya districts.

Hi, yes previously, sand availabilty was becoming a serious issue which had hit the construction industry in Mysore. But thankfully the scarcity appears to have eased with the arrival of sand from outside the district, and presently the situation is in control.
