Hi, I world like to invest in a property located within 10km from my workplace. I prefer Perungalathur as it suits,my budget of Rs 30 lakh.but I world like to know more about this area?
Hello, Perungalathur is located on the southern gateway to the city, it is in proximity to the Outer Ring Road that offers connectivity to North Chennai and National Highway 24. It has good connectivity with Chengalpattu and Kanchipuram The Perungalathur railway station is about 30 km from Chennai Central. It is near the Tambaram railway junction. Southern Railway is currently renovating and expanding, including the extension of platforms.
All Metropolitan Transport Corporation buses towards Vandalur pass through Perungalathur.Auto-rickshaws and share-autos can also be hired for accessing the interior areas very frequent.
@ Gaurav, The Perungalathur Lake is located behind the Vedanta Desika Srinivasa Perumal Temple. The area is peaceful, pollution-free, and offers lush green environment with a picturesque view of the Vandalur hills which is on the south eastern side.
In my point of view, in peak hours, those who have to cross this part of the city to reach as Vandalur and Guduvanchery, may face delays. The traffic piles up due to wrong parking practice here. People park their cars on the road itself. The state government has also proposed a bus terminus at Perungalathur some time ago. If it materializes, the area would be further decongested.
Hi Guys,
The locality is part of the Phase 1 of the Chennai Monorail network. Apart from this, the Highways Department and the Southern Railway will construct a road over-bridge and a pedestrian subway to replace two level crossings near the Perungalathur Railway Station. The road over-bridge would be aligned with the proposed Eastern Bypass project of the Highways Department, which would connect Velachery Main Road at Rajakilpakkam and GST Road near the Perungalathur station.
Hi All,
According to me, life in Perungalathur is peaceful and away from pollution and hassles of the city. The place offers lush green environment with a picturesque view of the Vandalur Hills which is on the south eastern side . Apart from this the locality is also known for the Perungalathur Lake behind the Vedanta Desika Srinivasa Perumal Temple.
As per my knowledge, Perungalathur is one of the prime location with decent residential environment. Infrastructure , connectivity & transportation is not an issue in this area. The area offers well equipped social fabric that includes good schools, banks and medical facilities . Perungalathur has a Primary Health Center (PHC) & Additional Health Center and a couple of private nursing homes and clinics as well.
As per my knowledge, the Perungalathur Railway Station is about 30 km from Chennai Central. Southern Railway is currently renovating and expanding, including extension of platforms. A new rail line exclusively for express trains is also planned. According to me, this area is very suitable for investors. As located & well connected near to many reputed areas in Chennai, this location will have high rental appreciation in all over the year.

It’s proximity to Tambaram Railway Junction and Arignar Anna Zoological Park in Vandalur has given the locality good connectivity with places such as Chengalpattu and Kanchipuram. The NH-24 is also nearby.
