Panchayat site

Q: I have govt. reserve site with a house in Coimbatore. I want to keep the site. What is the process to remove reserve status. I'm willing to get equal land in another location. I do have patta on my name.

In my honest opinion, you cant really keep the site, since it is reserved for government purposes only. What you can do is apply for another land of the same size in a different location, If the officials are able to verify all the details, it would be easy to provide with you a different piece of land.

Hey, as you say that you have the patta or title deed in your name, there are for sure some legal remedies you can go for. First would of course be contacting the local municipal corporation, and telling them about your situation. If that doesn't work you can go the local court and file a official complaint

See its a very complicated situation because with government reserved land, you can't really remove the reserve. But if you have been living in the area for more 10 years, you can definitely apply for compensation or ask for a change to another location, to the Coimbatore Municipal Corporation.

But what if you got the reserve site through inheritance?

I wanted to ask how you got hold of a government reserve land in the first place, since they are supposed to be reserved for government purposes only. If you got it through some old deed or as inheritence, then you can contact the local authority, but if this is a case of land envroachment, then it is better to let go of the place as soon as possible.
